Poem: Approval declined

Approval declined

Leaving behind

All that love, I used to have

All that passion, I used to feed from

All my dreams

Buried

Underneath a bond of approval

Discarded me –

Salty tears have dried

No connection left

Gloom

One last wink –

I catch the light

I cut the cord

I can

My dream

My passion

My love

Me

succeed without approval!

  1. Whew! Happy to discover that “Approval Declined” was the title of your poem and not about me visiting your blog..

While I am not “one who reads poetry,” it is also true that I do occasionally go where I don’t typically go. Re’ “Approval Declined”–I totally relate. At the end of the day, no matter who has attacked me recently, I can honestly say “I am so happy to be me.”
